Bay College’s Swing for Scholarships golf outing, slated for Thursday, July 16th at the Escanaba Country Club, promises to be a great time. This year marks the event’s 25th anniversary in support of student success through scholarships. Over the years, this event has helped over 241 academically deserving students, achieve their educational goals.

Bay de Noc Community College is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a vacancy on the Board of Trustees created by the resignation of Margaret Noreus. This term expires December 31, 2020; however, the individual appointed will need to run to fill the remainder of the term at the November 2016 election.

Plans are underway for Bay College’s 25th annual Swing for Scholarships Golf Outing that will be held on Thursday, July 16 at the Escanaba Country Club. The event begins with registration at 11 a.m. EST, a golf shotgun start at noon with lunch, live and silent auctions, awards, and an exceptional steak and shrimp dinner to follow.

The Bay College Board of Trustees announces the resignation of Margaret Noreus effective June 30, 2015. Margaret will leave the Board after 14 years of service to focus her attention on the financial needs of her clients at Edward Jones.

ESCANABA…Bay de Noc Community College announced the names of the students who have earned recognition and membership to the Dean’s List for attainment of scholarly excellence during the Winter 2015 Semester.

To be selected for the Dean’s List, a student must earn a 3.50 grade point average out of a possible 4.00, and must have completed 12 or more credit hours of college classes.  Attainment of the minimum selection standard of 3.50 or better is significant achievement representing the best that can be expected of a college student.

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a national organization that focuses on the professional and leadership development of students at the middle, secondary, and post-secondary levels. Their core program, Workplace Skills Assessment Program, allows students to compete in collegiate events at the state and national level.

This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).   Hailed as landmark legislation in U.S. history, the ADA has been pivotal in defining nondiscriminatory practices and equal access opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Rebecca Neubauer a student at Bay College in Escanaba won Second Place for her mural drawing, “Self-Portrait Screaming” at the Land Competition downstate. Each year, the Liberal Arts Network for Development sponsors five student competitions to recognize outstanding student work in the Liberal Arts: art, illustration, creative writing, digital literacy, and Student Scholars. LAND seeks to develop and to promote a network for strengthening the liberal arts in Michigan community colleges.
