Michigan State University, along with Bay de Noc Community College, is hosting a series of professional development workshops for Michigan teachers in the summer of 2025 on the campuses of Bay College. The workshops will help deepen instructor skills and provide resources to implement inquiry-based practices in their classrooms.
Data Collection, Analysis, and Interpretation for 6-12 Math and Science Teachers Workshop (8/5/2025 in Escanaba, MI from 9 am - 3 pm EDT and 8/7/2025 in Iron Mountain, MI from 9 am - 3 pm CDT)
Participants will focus on inquiry-based practices through data collection, analysis, and interpretation activities. They will switch between teacher and student mode to deepen the skills required to implement the practices in their classroom. Each participant will receive a classroom set of materials to implement the lessons in their classroom and a $100 stipend for their attendance. Paper Airplane Engineering Workshop for K-12 Teachers (8/6/2025 in Escanaba, MI from 9 am - 3 pm EDT and 8/8/2025 in Iron Mountain, MI from 9 am - 3 pm CDT)
Participants will build and test paper airplane designs using paper airplane launchers to take back to their classrooms. Each participant will receive three paper airplane launchers and a $100 stipend for their attendance. Please use the QR code or link below to register for one of these workshops.
